Safety

When you think of windshields protection, the glass that surrounds you also plays a critical role in keeping you safe. Nothing does it better than laminated safety glass. Laminated safety glass for windshields made with Bisn ® PVB (POLYVINYL BUTYRAL) interlayer film and two pieces of normal heat-bent glasses provide occupant protection in case of an accident, as well as provide improved impact resistance. When impacted, the glass tends to stay in the frame, protecting occupants in the vehicle from broken glass and the interior of the car from the weather. When shattered, the fragments stick to the plastic, reducing the risk of ejection and helping to increase safety in an accident or collision.

In addition to meeting all the global standards and norms specified for windshields, glazings with Bisn ® PVB (POLYVINYL BUTYRAL) interlayer film can meet or exceed emerging penetration norms for vehicle side window intrusion resistance and occupant ejection mitigation.
Bisn ® PVB (POLYVINYL BUTYRAL) interlayer film is also available to meet the higher penetration resistance requirements often required by emergency response vehicles or other high performance applications. Today, automakers can offer laminated glass throughout their vehicles, including side windows and sunroofs, to offer even greater protection.

Security
When you think of windshields protection, the glass that surrounds you also plays a critical role in keeping you safe. Nothing does it better than laminated safety glass. Laminated safety glass made with Bisn ® PVB (POLYVINYL BUTYRAL) interlayer film can provide up to two minutes of intrusion resistance - up to 62 times the security of tempered glass, as it takes a thief 10x longer to penetrate laminated glass compared to standard tempered glass! Laminated safety glass made with Bisn ® PVB (POLYVINYL BUTYRAL) interlayer film provides the security of enhanced penetration resistance compared to tempered glass. In addition, when impacted, the glass tends to stay in the frame, protecting occupants in the vehicle from broken glass and the interior of the car from the weather.

In addition to meeting all the global standards and norms specified for windshields, glazings with Bisn ® PVB (POLYVINYL BUTYRAL) interlayer film can meet or exceed emerging penetration norms for vehicle side window intrusion resistance and occupant ejection mitigation. Bisn ® PVB (POLYVINYL BUTYRAL) interlayer film is also available to meet the higher penetration resistance requirements often requested by fleet operators or others whose vehicles may contain high value equipment or who may otherwise need to restrict unauthorized access to the vehicle contents.

UV Protection
Bisn ® PVB (POLYVINYL BUTYRAL) interlayer provides safety, security, UV protection, acoustic and design control for you next automotive application. All automotive interlayer film, when combined with minimally performing automotive solar glass, the green and blue color stripes can block more than 95% of the sun's harmful UV energy from entering the vehicle, equal to a factor of 50+ sunlight protection. That's vital protection for passengers as well as your car interior, the highest rating available. This is an SPF 10 times greater than standard tempered glass.

Acoustic control
Laminated safety glass made with Bisn ® protective interlayer can reduce wind and road noise by up to 3-4 dB as compared to tempered glass, while providing a 10%-12% weight savings versus the same thickness of tempered glass. Bisn® advanced acoustic interlayer film can add to the performance of standard interlayer film, increasing noise reduction levels by +2dB.

The acoustical dampening of Bisn ® interlayer is particularly beneficial in the frequency range of 1200 to 2500 Hz, the frequencies most produced by road and engine noise. Bisn ® will launch our next generation acoustic interlayer, providing a drop in solution for a quieter, more comfortable automotive purpose experience. Laminated glass is offered in most vehicles for about the same cost as a decent stereo. Its inexpensive safety that' simply invaluable.
